About the Innovation Society
The mission of the EIPIN Foundation is to harness the collective expertise of the EIPIN network to address the most pressing challenges and emerging opportunities in intellectual property research in Europe. By bringing together leading intellectual property scholars, the Foundation seeks to create a collaborative research environment capable of achieving far more collectively than individual institutions could accomplish alone.
At the heart of the Foundation lies a commitment to supporting the next generation of intellectual property scholars. Through an annual research meeting and a sustained programme of academic exchange, the network provides doctoral candidates and early-career researchers with opportunities to present their research, receive constructive feedback from internationally recognised experts, engage with innovative methodologies, and build lasting academic networks. In doing so, the Foundation aims to strengthen the quality, ambition, and societal relevance of intellectual property scholarship across Europe.
The Foundation also serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences among senior scholars. It promotes dialogue on research developments, doctoral supervision, examination, evaluation, and other aspects of academic practice, fostering mutual learning and the continuous development of excellence in intellectual property research and education. The annual meeting further provides an opportunity for senior members to present and discuss their current research, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and the emergence of new research initiatives.
Beyond its educational mission, the Foundation actively promotes joint research projects that draw upon the complementary expertise of its members across the full spectrum of intellectual property law. By combining diverse perspectives and disciplinary approaches, the network seeks to advance high-level research on complex, controversial, and forward-looking topics that shape the future of intellectual property.
While firmly rooted in the European research landscape, the Foundation embraces a global outlook, recognising that intellectual property challenges increasingly transcend national and regional boundaries. Through its collaborative ethos, commitment to academic excellence, and dedication to nurturing both established and emerging scholars, the EIPIN Foundation contributes to the development of a vibrant European intellectual property community and to the generation of innovative, thoughtful, and impactful research.
